Since the ‘80s Albuquerque has expanded west across the Rio Grande River into the Westside. With the Sandia’s to the east, Isleta tribal lands to the south, and Sandia tribal lands to the north in the foreseeable future Albuquerque only has one direction to go, west. Living on the Westside feels like living in the suburbs. There is space to roam, feel distant from the city, get more bang for your buck, and see Albuquerque from an amazing angle. I encourage everyone to visit the Petroglyph National Monument where you can find Indian and Spanish hieroglyphs. While you’re there, stick around for sunset to see the Sandia Mountains turn red/pink (Sandia translates to watermelon).

Homes are consistent in style, parks are abundant, and little shopping centers accompany each neighborhood. High end custom home opportunities are available atop the Petroglyphs and along the West River Valley. In 2022 the average price per square foot is $183, averaging ~1,950 square feet.
