North Albuquerque Acres is a high end community located in the northeastern part of Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is known for its beautiful natural surroundings, luxury homes, and proximity to the Sandia Mountains. However, like any community, there are both pros and cons to living in North Albuquerque Acres.
Pros:
- Scenic Views: One of the biggest advantages of living in North Albuquerque Acres is the breathtaking views of the Sandia Mountains. This area is known for its stunning sunrises and sunsets, making it a popular spot for nature lovers and photographers alike.
- Safety: North Albuquerque Acres is known for being a safe community. It has a lower crime rate than many other areas of Albuquerque, which makes it an ideal place to raise a family or retire.
- Schools: According to Neighborhood Scout some of the highest rated public schools are located in NAA. In fact I went to high school in the NAA area!
- Quiet: North Albuquerque Acres is a peaceful neighborhood, free from the hustle and bustle of the city. It offers residents a tranquil setting, perfect for those who want to get away from the noise and chaos of urban living.
- Proximity to Hiking: North Albuquerque Acres is located just minutes from the Sandia Mountains, which offers residents access to some of the best hiking in New Mexico.
- Luxury Homes: North Albuquerque Acres is known for its luxurious homes, which are often situated on large lots with plenty of space and privacy. This makes it an ideal place for those who value their privacy and want a spacious home.
Cons:
- Higher Cost of Living: North Albuquerque Acres is an upscale community, which means that the cost of living is higher than in other parts of Albuquerque. This may be a disadvantage for those who are on a tight budget.
- Limited Restrictions: North Albuquerque Acres is not governed by the same zoning and land-use regulations as the city of Albuquerque, which means that there are limited restrictions on what your neighbor can do with their property. This can sometimes lead to disagreements and conflicts among residents.
- Limited Infrastructure: North Albuquerque Acres is not part of the city of Albuquerque, which means that there is limited infrastructure in the area. This means no sidewalks, streets lamps, and limited water diversion.
- PNM: Our electric service provider has been trying to develop a substation in the area that residents are actively fighting. More information on that in the video above!
In conclusion, North Albuquerque Acres offers residents a beautiful and peaceful setting with plenty of outdoor activities and luxurious homes. However, it is important to consider the higher cost of living, limited restrictions, and limited infrastructure when deciding whether to make it your home.
